PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reclining chair or a reclining sofa whose backrest can be gradually adjusted while the backrest is being prevented from contacting a wall. SOLUTION: The reclining chair or the reclining sofa includes a seat 1 and a backrest 2 which is connected to the seat 1 and can be moved from a seating position to a reclining position. Guide bars are provided under the seat 1, and each of the bars is received in a movable guide member, while a frame 3, to the upper part of which the backrest 2 is connected, is joined to a base foot 4. In the reclining chair or the reclining sofa, the frame 3 and the base foot 4 are connected to each other by two coupling links on the opposite sides of the chair or the sofa. One of the coupling links 5 is turnably fixed to the seat 1. |
