PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a pulp molded article, by which the molded article is not deformed or damaged, when the water-containing molded article is pressed and dehydrated. SOLUTION: This method for producing the pulp molded article, comprising supplying a pulp slurry into the cavity 4 of a paper-making frame 1 comprising the cavity 4 having a prescribed shape and a slurry-injecting passage 5 for allowing the cavity 4 to communicate with the outside, forming the water- containing pulp molded article 7 on the paper-making surface of the cavity 4, inserting a cylindrical member 9 receiving an expandable core 8 into the slurry-injecting passage 5, inserting the core 8 received in the cylindrical member 9 into the molded article 7, and then supplying a fluid into the core 8 to expand the core 8, thus pressing the molded article 7 to the paper-making surface of the cavity 4.
