PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a direct liquid feed type writing instrument using a smaller ink reservoir than a conventional one when the volumes of ink tanks are the same, or a direct liquid feed type writing instrument capable of increasing an ink loading amount with an ink reservoir of the same size. SOLUTION: The direct liquid feed type writing instrument comprises a nib having a writing element at its end, an ink tank for directly storing a relatively low viscosity ink having a viscosity at the ambient temperature of 100 mPa.S, an ink reservoir utilizing a capillarity for regulating the internal pressure of the tank, and a guide means for an inner core or the like for guiding the ink from the tank to the element. The instrument further comprises a channel tube for connecting the reservoir to the tank, and an ink storage unit provided at the reservoir in such a manner that the ink cannot be supplied to the core or the like of the guide means from except the tube.
