PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the volume of garbage such as kitchen waste daily discharged from a kitchen, etc., and to convert such garbage into a lightweight material and thereby to rationalize garbage treatment including post-treatment. SOLUTION: This treatment process comprises: successively charging garbage such as kitchen waste, into a garbage accumulation vessel placed in a drying chamber of a dryer in a freely removable manner from the drying chamber; and while drying the charged garbage by operating the dryer and reducing the volume of the charged garbage, accumulating the dried garbage having reduced volume in the accumulation vessel.
