PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition for the oral cavity excellent in flavor with slight enzyme inhibition while formulating a fatty acid alkylolamide therein. SOLUTION: This composition for the oral cavity comprises the fatty acid alkylolamide having <=10 amine value. The fatty acid alkyolamide can be produced by reacting at least one or more kinds selected from alkylolamines represented by the following general formula (I) [wherein R1 denotes hydrogen atom or a monovalent hydrocarbon group; R2 denotes hydrogen atom, amino group or a monovalent hydrocarbon group; X1 and X2 denote each hydrogen atom or methyl group; x and y denote each any number of 0-10; and m and n denote each any number of 1-5] with a fatty acid and/or a fatty acid ester under specific conditions.
