PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bag body catching method for a bag unpacking apparatus which can execute automatically and efficiently works for taking grains out of bags having the grains housed therein and stacked up on a pallet and for accumulating the taken-out grains at a specified place and is contributable greatly to improvement of workability while being controllable easily by simplicity of its structure. SOLUTION: The bag unpacking apparatus 10 comprises a pallet mounting part 12 and a bag catching part 18. Bag bodies H on a pallet P mounted at the pallet mounting part 12 are arranged in a specified arrangement pattern, and a bag-catching order for setting catching positions in accordance with the arrangement pattern is set beforehand in a program. The bag bodies H on the pallet P detected by a bag body detecting sensor are caught successively one by one by the bag catching part 18 which is operated in accordance with the set bag-catching order, and after being delivered to a cutter part 44, the bag bodies are cut with the grains being housed therein.
