PURPOSE: A plasma display panel with red phosphor is provided to provide a plasma display screen with means for shifting the red spot toward high chroma as well as increasing the contrast in bright surroundings. CONSTITUTION: A plasma screen comprises a carrier plate(2), a transparent front plate(1), a ribbed structure dividing the space between the carrier plate and the front plate into plasma cells which are filled with a gas, one or more electrode arrays for producing quiet electrical discharges in the cells; and a phosphor layer(10) containing a phosphor material selected from rare earth metal borates of formula: EAM(11-x-y)M2xEuyB9O16 (where, EA = Ca, Sr or Ba; M1 = Gd, La; M2 = Y, Lu, Sc or In; 0< x <= 0.5; 0.01 <= y <= 0.4), and M(31-r-ss)YtEusBO3 (where, M3 = Sc, In, Lu; 0.01 <= r <= 0.99 and 0.01 <= s <= 0.15).
