PURPOSE: To provide a contact image sensor which prevents a read image from deteriorating by stopping noise from an FAP and a handy scanner which uses it. CONSTITUTION: An ITO film 37, an aluminum layer 38, and an adhesion layer 39 are provided between a sensor substrate 32 and the FAP 33; and the ITO film 37 is provided over the entire join surface with the FAP 33 and a light transmission window 40 serving as a through part that light L passes through is provided to the aluminum layer 38 at least except the part facing the part where pixels 34 are formed.
