PURPOSE: Provided is an improved process for the fermentative production of an L- amino acid, particularly L-lysine by using a Coryneform bacterium. CONSTITUTION: The process for the fermentative production of L-amino acid, particularly L-lysine characteristically comprises the following steps: a) fermenting Coryneform bacteria producing L-amino acid, in which csp1 gene is attenuated; b) accumulating desired L-amino acid in a medium or bacterial cells; and c) separating L-amino acid from the medium or cells.
