PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method of supplying servo gain linearization for magnetic resistance head are provided to reduce price of head and increase production capacity by supplying a various information with a linear in relation with track position of MR reading head. CONSTITUTION: A disc(102) has a several track. Each of a several track has track center line and a several servo field(158). Each servo field(158) has A burst, B burst, C burst, and D burst. A burst and B burst have a common boundary line located at the track center line. C burst and D burst have a common boundary line. A,B,C and D burst supply the disc which supply a corresponding servo burst value. A reading measure is arranged on the track center line. A,B,C, and D burst is sensed. Upper and lower critical value is calculated based on value of A,B,C, and D servo burst. A position error signal is generated based on the upper and lower critical value and value of A,B,C, and D servo burst. The position error signal is stored in memory apparatus. A typical sector has an automatic gain control field(150), a synchronism field(152), a gray code field(154) to recognize a track, an identification field(156) to limit sector, a servo field(158) to include a several A,B,C,D servo bit, a data field(160) to has data, and an error correct code field(162).
