<p>PURPOSE:To provide a discharge lamp lighting device which does not cause excessive peaks in the output of light when a discharge lamp is started and which enables fixed output of light to be obtained quickly after lighting of the discharge lamp is started. CONSTITUTION:Power supplied from a power supply portion 12 is controlled by a control portion 9 in proportion to the output of a lamp voltage detecting portion 1 and in accordance with preset corresponding characteristics of lamp power and lamp voltage required to make constant the output of light of a discharge lamp 6. When the discharge lamp is started the output of light of the discharge lamp 6 is quickly raised without having excessive peaks and is then controller to a fixed rate.</p> |
