PURPOSE: Provided is a method for hydroformylating an olefin by which a branched or unbranched, and terminal or internal olefin can be formed into oxo at the terminals in high yield and selectivity and the aldehyde as linear as possible can be produced. CONSTITUTION: The method for producing an aldehyde comprises using a group 8B metal in the periodic table as a catalyst in the presence of ligands A and B of formulas 1 and 2 respectively £X is As, Sb or P; R1 to R3 are each a C1-50 (substituted) aliphatic, alicyclic or aromatic hydrocarbon groups, or two of the R1, R2 and R3 may form a covalent bond, with the proviso that at least one of the hydrocarbon groups R1 to R3 has a hetero atom selected from O, S, N, F, Cl, Br, I, Se and Te; and R4, R5 and R6 are each C1-50 (substituted) aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbon group, or two of the R4, R5 and R6 may have one covalent bond|. |
