The system has tunnels (1) carrying trains in two opposite directions between a large number of stations located in a second ground layer beneath a first ground layer, optionally mixed with sand), the water table (9) and a densely inhabited conurbation with buildings (optionally on piles), roads, surface water (e.g. canals, lakes, ports or channels). Each track is designed to carry trains running on rubber(y) wheels and operated by an automatic system. The station platforms and/or trains are not longer than 70 m. An Independent claim is also included for constructing this transport system, by excavating a pit with dam walls (6) to form the station and then drilling the tunnel through these walls.
