PURPOSE: An optical device, especially objective, with at least one diaphragm is provided to improve an optical capacity by making the system diaphragm proper of an optical image device. CONSTITUTION: An optical imaging device having a system diaphragm and aperture and specially a lens system is controlled by an opening diameter. An axial position of the system diaphragm(1) is set in relation to an optical axis(4) according to the opening diameter(D) of the system diaphragm(1). The system diaphragm(1) has diaphragm leafs(3) which move against each other, and at least part of them are between two diaphragm bases(6a,6b) which have a relative movement against each other. The diaphragm bases(6a,6b) have guides so that each separate diaphragm leaf(3) has a given movement path.
