The invention relates to a heating device for heating church rooms, in particular small churches, chapels or the like, which has radiant heaters which are arranged under the seat of church pews and whose heat radiation is directed essentially towards the floor. In order to reduce the risk of fire and also to reduce the operating costs, it is proposed that the radiant heater (1) is formed in each case by an essentially closed radiator area (3) which extends in the longitudinal direction of the seat (2), is domed forwards towards the floor (8) and is made from a material of high thermal conductivity, preferably metal, and whose inner surface is loaded with heat by a heating element (6; 7), the space enclosed by the radiator area (3) being sealed off towards the lower area of the pew by a heat-insulating layer (4), and that the heating element (6; 7) has such a power rating that the surface temperature of the radiator area (3) does not exceed 60 DEG C. <IMAGE> |
