PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a catalyst for polymerizing olefins which gives an olefinic polymer excellent in stereoregularity in a high yield and also an olefinic polymer containing very little amount of a fine powder, and to provide its polymerization method. SOLUTION: The catalyst for polymerizing olefins is composed of (A) a solid catalyst component comprising magnesium, titanium, an electron-donating compound and a halogen atom, (B) an organoaluminum compound represented by the general formula: R1pAlQ3-p, (C) an organosilicon compound represented by the general formula R2qSi(OR3)4-q and (D) a complex of a titanium compound with an ester compound. The olefin polymerization method comprises polymerizing olefins in the presence of the catalyst for polymerizing olefins.
