PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a skin preparation for external use, capable of activating an enzyme reaction system inherent in the corneal layer of the human body, accelerating physiological detachment, and capable of bring about healthy detachment of the corneum even in an area where the senescent corneum is formed. SOLUTION: This skin preparation for external use contains a lipid component of the structural formula (I) (R1 is an acyl having 15-19 of carbon atoms, 0-4 of oxygen atoms, and 29-36 of hydrogen atoms; R2 is an acyl having 13-19 of carbon atoms, 0-4 of oxygen atoms, 29-36 of hydrogen atoms, and 0-1 of nitrogen atom; R3 is H or methyl; and X is H or hydroxyl) and a protease.
