METHOD FOR PURIFYING AN AIR FROM SULFUR DIOXIDE

The invention belongs to purification of sulphur dioxide absorption flow and can be used in all spheres where sulphur dioxides are released: cleaning of catalytic flow in chemical industry, metal casting industry, construction, fertiliser production, and light industry. This invention proposes a more effective and cost-efficient method of cleaning sulphur dioxide from the air. The air is purified of SO2 with natural zeolite that is 6mm in diameter and consists of klinoptilolyte and mordenite minerals modified with 4% natrium carbonate solution. Regeneration of the used absorbent is performed by heating zeolite to 250-300 degrees C and venting with hot air. This purification method is less expansive and more effective compared to natural zeolite due to the use of inexpensive, naturally mined modificator.
