<p>Tool runs in a curved path between the edges of butted sheets. A slider moves, self-propelled, on a guide rail fastened to one of the sheets. A reversing electric motor is connected to the slide and displaces the tool perp. to the rail in a swinging motion and has reversing contracts in its supply circuit. Sensing elements are fast to the tool and swing with it and establish the proximity of the sheet edge, and operate the reversing contacts when the edge is reached, and also auto control the amplitude of tool swing so that it is constantly equal to the width of the gap between the two sheets.</p> |
