PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power converter which can detect service interruption surely and quickly and stop operation, although the conventional power converter cannot detect service interruption surely and quickly when a power supply voltage decreases gradually on account of connected situation or the like. SOLUTION: When a peak change circuit 34 detects abnormality of change of a peak of a power source voltage and a frequency change amount circuit 33 detects abnormality of change of frequency of the power source voltage, an AND circuit 32 outputs a signal. When the peak of the power source voltage becomes lower than specified, a level comparator 18 outputs a signal. When a frequency of the power source voltage deviates from a specified range, a frequency discriminator 22 outputs a signal. According to the three signals, an OR circuit 23 outputs a service interruption signal, and a PWM control circuit 10 stops operation of the power converter.
