The protection mechanism (12) closes a connector (10) on a protection box. One of the two units has attachment protrusions (24A,24B) with levers (22A,22B). The wire shaped lever has a section coupling over the attachment protrusions, and leaving an extending arm section. A second lever set (26A,26B) locks the first lever in position.
