<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a working method and a connection structure of piping, which make it possible to easily and securely connect underground pipes, laid by a jacking method, with a manhole. SOLUTION: A pit larger than the periphery of a manhole in sectional dimension is formed by excavation at a location where the manhole is to be installed for pipe connection. A crumbling preventive board is disposed on the wall face of the pit, and a propulsion machine, facing the board, is disposed in the direction of the pipe installation. Propulsive pipes of prescribed size are connected and propelled underground with the propulsion machine until a pipe end is protruded from the pit wall by a prescribed length, whereat the manhole is provided. Thereafter, a short pipe is inserted into a pipe connection hole provided in the manhole and further connected to the propulsive pipe via a muff coupling. A flexible rubber joint for sealing is attached on the short pipe and the pipe connection hole of the manhole.</p> |
