PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable positioning device capable of simply giving information such as a user's own position, the direction of a destination, and the like even in the event of a stop or during movement as slow as a walking speed. SOLUTION: Map information on an area around the own position acquired by a GPS measuring device is taken out of a storage memory. Based on the own position and a set position of the destination, an own position mark 91 and a destination position mark 92 are displayed on a display screen 61 so that the north is located at 12 o'clock position on the display screen 61 as shown in Fig. (a). Based on an absolute direction obtained by a direction measuring part 2 and the above destination position and own position, an actual direction is computed and displayed so as to agree with the direction of 12 o'clock on the display screen 61 as shown in Fig. (b). The map, the present position mark 91, and the destination mark 92 are rotated following the direction of the user's body and displayed so as to agree with the direction of 12 o'clock of a main body 11 at all times. |
