OPTICAL IMAGING ASSEMBLY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a return optical system of an improved type based on a reflection optical imaging element. SOLUTION: A first linearly polarized light filter of the optical assembly allows the passage of the light polarized in a first direction and a second linearly polarized light filter allows the passage of the light polarized in a second direction orthogonal with the first direction. The return imaging assembly has first and second lenses and a first quarter-wave plate. The first and second lenses are subjected to partial reflection coating on the one-side surfaces of the respective lenses. The return imaging assembly and the second quarter-wave plate are arranged between the first and second linearly polarized light filters.
