PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas detector capable of facilitating grasping of the remaining time of waiting time for waiting for the initial stabilization of the gas detector. SOLUTION: This gas detector, in which a gas detecting element 1 generating electric output based on a contact with gas-to-be-detected is mounted inside its housing and which is fitted with a gas detecting circuit 3 removing the output, is provided with a display means 4 in the housing, and an initial stabilization degree displaying mechanism 5 which determines the decrease degree per unit time of initial output at the time of turning on a power supply and determines the display condition of the displaying means based on the decrease degree.
