PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of camera shake at photographing, by predicting the extent of camera shake at photographing and detecting the condition, that camera shake on the outside of an allowable range is apt to occur. SOLUTION: A system controller 3 predicts the extent of camera shake at photographing on the basis of a camera shake value from a camera shake sensor 90, when photographing is started. If the prediction result exceeds the allowable range, the system controller 3 outputs a warning message which prompts a photographer to perform finder photographing using a viewport type EVF 43. In the case of photographing using a liquid crystal monitor 41, the system controller 3 turns off the liquid crystal monitor 41 to switch to finder photographing, using the viewport type EVF 43.
