<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a light-emitting device which can obtain a desired light output, while controlling the operating temperature of the device in such a way that the pumped energy supplied to a pumping light source becomes an optimum state. SOLUTION: This light-emitting device is provided with a solid-state laser unit 50, a pumping light source 51, and an automatic temperature control means composed of a temperature control element 51, temperature control circuit 56, etc., which control the temperature of the unit 50, light source 51, etc. The device is also provided with an automatic light output control means, composed of a light output control circuit 56, etc., an energy-measuring means 58 which measures the pumping energy supplied to the light source 51, and an operating temperature setting means 59 which changes the operating temperature of the control element 51, while fixing the light output controlled by means of the automatic light output control means, finds the optimum operating temperature at which the pumping energy becomes the optimum from the relation between the pumping energy measured by means of the measuring means 58 and the operating temperature, when the operating temperature is changed, and sets the control temperature by means of the automatic temperature control means to the optimum operating temperature found.</p> |
