PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera capable of surely receiving a remote control signal without being influenced by noise caused by a circuit or the like in the camera. SOLUTION: This camera is equipped with a transmission means 13 transmitting plural signals and consisting of a remote control device or the like, a reception means 12 receiving the signal transmitted from the transmission means 13, a display means 10 displaying various kinds of information related to the camera, an illumination means 11 illuminating the display means 10, and a control means 1 controlling the entire camera including respective circuits. The control means controls to stop the illumination by the illumination means 11 so as to prevent the noise from being produced when the reception means 12 receives a 1st signal showing that the transmission of the signal is started, and controls to turn on the illumination means 11 again after the reception means 12 receives a 2nd signal related to the transmitted contents thereafter.
