PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an eyepiece which is small in size over the entire part of an optical system, has a wide visual field of an observation visual field and is good in aberrations and a telescope and binoculars using the same. SOLUTION: This eyepiece comprises, successively from an incident side, a first lens group consisting of one negative lens which is concave to the incident side and is stronger in the power on the incident side surface than the surface on an exit side, a second lens group consisting of one positive meniscus lens convex to the exit side, a third lens group consisting of a cemented lens which has a meniscus shape convex to the exit side and has positive refracting power as a whole via an intermediate image position, a fourth lens group consisting of a positive lens having the power strong to the exit side and a fifth lens group of positive refracting power having the power strong to the incident side.
