PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely and efficiently measure the tube hole positions of a tube sheet and a stay plate in the assembling of a condenser on the basis of the straight reference of laser beam. SOLUTION: This position measuring device comprises a laser transmitter 1 mounted on one of opposed tube sheets Pt and a laser beam receiving device 1 mounted on the other tube sheet Pt. The laser transmitter 1 contains a helium neon laser device for emitting red light. The straight reference of the laser beam excellent in directivity is set, and the tube hole positions of the tube sheets Pt and the stay plate Pd are measured while keeping high precision.
