PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarizing plate having an excellent adhesive property between a polyvinyl alcohol type polarizing film and a supporting body, excellent water resistance and durability. SOLUTION: The polarizing plate is manufactured by laminating the polyvinyl alcohol type polarizing film and the supporting body via an adhesive layer comprising a denatured polyvinyl alcohol type polymer containing 1-20 mol% ethylene units.
