<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data retrieval system, consisting of a database and a retrieval table for high-speed retrieval to store selected/copied data from this database and whose retrieval processing can be executed at high speed and to provide a processor and a control method, by which the management processing time of the retrieval table for a packet processor including the data retrieval system of this kind can considerably be reduced thereby preventing the packet processing performance from being deteriorated. SOLUTION: The data retrieval system, employing the database and the retrieval table to store selected/copied data from this database, is provided with an address pointer table that describes position information of entry address of each data and/or mutual relation among the entry addresses on the retrieval table. The packet processor provided with a microprocessor and a retrieval circuit, to which the retrieval table to execute the packet processing at high speed is connected, is provided with an address pointer table that describes the position information of entry address of each data and/or mutual dependency among the entry addresses on the retrieval table.</p> |
