PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a particle size distribution measuring device which prevents the image from being blurred during the image pick-up of the particles of the powder sample, improves the accuracy and the reliability of the device, and improves the workability during the image pick-up. SOLUTION: The particle size distribution measuring device comprises a hopper 2, an oscillating feeder 3 to carry the powder sample S from one end 3a side to the other end 3b side, a chute 4 to guide the powder sample S freely dropping from the other end 3b, a CCD camera 5 having the optical axis i in the direction substantially orthogonal to a guide surface 4e of the chute 4 with the focal depth m set in the vicinity of an intersection P of the optical axis i with the guide surface 4e, and an illuminating means 6 to irradiate the light in the image pick-up range, and measures the particle size distribution of the powder sample S sliding down along the chute 4.
