PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a control of tapping velocity so that the velocity can be turned back to an original velocity, even when a tapping hole is clogged in the course of tapping and the tapping velocity is reduced, to surely prevent a blocking of the tapping hole due to the reduction of the velocity, and further carry out a stable tapping, even though temperature of the melt is reduced lower than the temperature in the normal time, and viscosity of the melt becomes higher than usual. SOLUTION: Melting slag 2 is let out into a granulation treatment tank 5 holding granulation water from a melting furnace 1 having a tapping hole 4 capable of controlling the tapping velocity. At the time when the slag 2 is to be granulated, temperature (Twi) of the water supplied to the tank 5 and temperature (Two) of the drainage from the tank 5 are measured to control the tapping velocity of the slag 2 so that the difference (Two-Twi) between the two temperatures becomes constant.
