PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head mount type display device which is capable of realizing a see-through mechanism outdoor/indoors in a form allowing easy handling by a user. SOLUTION: A beam splitter 6a of an optical system 6 of a display unit 5 is protected with a cover 7 which is untouchable from outside. The cover 7 is manufactured by injection molding of a member which reduces external light, for example, a material formed by mixing a transparent material and coloring materials. The cover 7 is regulatable in its transmittance by changing the amount of the coloring materials to be added and the thickness of molded goods.
