PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phase error correcting device for a resolver which can correct a phase error of position data outputted from the resolver. SOLUTION: A rotating speed detecting means 2 detects the rotating speed of the rotor of the resolver 1. A rotating direction detecting means 3, on the other hand, detects the rotating direction of the rotor. Further, a rotational angle detecting means 4 converts the output of the resolver 1 into a rotational angle and outputs it. A correction data generating means 5 generate phase error correction data for reducing phase errors generated at respective rotating speeds according to a phase error included in position data corresponding to a previously measured specific rotating speed of the rotor, the rotating speed of the rotor obtained from the rotating speed detecting means 2, the rotating direction of the rotor obtained from the rotating direction detecting means 3, and the rotational angle obtained from the rotational angle detecting means 4. An adding means 6 outputs position data having the phase phase error corrected by adding the position position and phase error correction data.
