PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten arithmetic time when performing image processing such as frequency processing and noise removing processing by finding a band limited image signal from an original image signal. SOLUTION: A band limited image signal preparing means 2 prepares a band limit image signal Bk (k=1 to (n)) expressing frequency response characteristics for each frequency band of an original image signal Sorg and having the number of pixels corresponding to frequency bands. Each of band limited image signals Bk is converted by a conversion function fk in a processing means 3 and a converted signal fkBk is provided. A high frequency signal SH1 is provided by reconstituting this converted signal fkBk successively from the bottom frequency band. On the other hand, a noise band limited image signal NBk is provided by separating a noise component from each of band limited image signals Bk and by reconstituting this signal successively from the bottom frequency band, a noise signal SN1 is provided. A processed image signal Sproc is provided by performing frequency emphasizing processing and noise removing processing while using the high frequency signal SH1 and the noise signal SN1. |
