PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a wave transmitting and receiving device because a main body of a detector in an ultrasonic detector for measuring depth of sea water or water or detecting a fish school can be considerably miniaturized owing to the appearance of semiconductor but the wave transmitting and receiving device is not miniaturized yet at present, although there are various ultrasonic detectors and they are mounted on a small boat for detection recently. SOLUTION: Most of wave transmitting and receiving devices used in practical use at present use a flat plate type ceramic vibrator. In this type vibrator, its outside diameter cannot be greatly reduced because an ultrasonic wave is radiated from a plane part. However, in a cylindrical type ceramic vibrator, its outside diameter can be considerably reduced because an ultrasonic wave is radiated from the whole cylindrical surface. Furthermore, it is possible to provide the considerably miniaturized wave transmitting and receiving device when compared with the conventional device because its machine conversion efficiency is large.
