摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the light utilizing efficiency in view of the distribution of tolerance and also to attain high output of emitting power as a drive by restraining the dispersion of the distribution of light source intensity in the emitting direction using an existing semiconductor laser so as to solve such problem that the high output of the semiconductor laser is not easily attained although the light source having higher output is required in a recording optical disk drive. SOLUTION: In this optical pickup device which records, reproduces and erases information, an attaching part 2, which is formed in a pickup housing 1 and is provided with a reference surface 3 for attaching a semiconductor laser unit 210 having a semiconductor laser chip 207 to the pickup housing 1, is prepared, and the reference surface 3 is inclined relative to an optical axis 8 by an angle corresponding to deviations in the emitting direction of the distribution of the light source intensity, that is, the inclination θ in the emitting direction of the semiconductor laser chip 207.
