PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To mount an electronic part while sucking it surely and to enhance mounting efficiency. SOLUTION: The head unit body 5a of a head unit 5 is provided with a frame 22 being driven to move up and down by a Z-axis servo motor 21 and a part suction head 20 being driven to move up and down by an air cylinder 25 is mounted on the frame 22. The head 20 is moved up and down between an elevated position and a lowered position for sucking a part through combination of the motor 21 and the air cylinder 25. When the head is elevated after sucking a part, it is elevated slowly at first by driving the motor 21 and then a main controller 45 controls the motor 21 and the air cylinder 25 to drive the head 20 at high speed through the air cylinder 25.
