PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow the easy collimating regulation of collimator optical systems having condenser lenses with high accuracy by using a semiconductor laser as a light source. SOLUTION: The exit light rays from the collimator optical systems 101 and 102 are condensed by the condenser lens 1 and the images corresponding to the light intensity distribution of the luminous flux section are picked up by image pickup elements 2 and 3 respectively before and behind the focus of the condenser lens 1. The light intensity detected with respect to the respective pixel columns or pixel rows in these image pickup elements 2 and 3 is integrated and the luminous flux diameter is calculated in accordance with the integrated value relating to the respective pixel columns or pixel rows, by which the focal position is detected. |
