PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescent element that is provided with good carrier transporting layer or a luminescent layer by using liquid compound having a high mobility. SOLUTION: A carrier-transporting layer is formed between a pair of electrodes and the carrier-transporting layer is made from discotec liquid crystals or smectic liquid crystals. The liquid crystals are heated up to a temperature in which liquid crystal phase is exhibited, so that at the carrier- transporting layer,πelectron resonance structure surface is aligned in parallel to the surfaces of the electrodes.
