SOLUTION: In the case of color copying, a maximum lighting time and a maximum current value corresponding to the color copying are set as initial values (S31 to S33) and read processing of white reference is performed (S34). When white reference data overflow, a current value is lowered until the current value becomes a prescribed lower limit value or the white reference data no longer overflow (S35 to S37). In the case the white reference data overflow even when the current value reaches the prescribed lower limit value, a lighting time is shortened until the white reference data no longer overflow (S38 to S40). In the case of monochromic copying, the same processing is also performed, and the current value and lighting time of the light sources are adjusted. Subsequently, all the light sources are turned off and black correction is instructed, and after storing black correction data, shading correction data about the light sources are subsequently acquired (S41 to S44).
