PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus of ultrasonic-connecting an electrode plate to a lead wire, which enable a stable ultrasonic connection without requiring a preliminary processing step, such as embossing or grid blasting processing or the like of a surface of lead wire, prior to combining the electrode plate made of metallic lithium with the lead wire. SOLUTION: When ultrasonic juncture of a lead wire is made for a negative electrode plate made of a metal foil of metallic lithium or lithium alloy, a thin, heat-resistant polyolefinic film or a fluororesin film is fixed mechanically or using adhesive on a surface of a metallic anvil which supports the negative electrode plate in a state where it is in contact with the surface of the negative electrode. this copes with the damage on the film caused by ultrasonic connection. Also, by moving a position of the film or anvil, the metallic lithium is supported by the damage-free film at a surface of a metallic lithium attachment- preventing layer. In this state, the ultrasonic connection is carried out.
