PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily take a bill out of a bill safe of a bill storage device and to prevent a bill from falling when taken out without requiring wide taking-out space above the bill safe. SOLUTION: The bill storage device has a controller 2 fitted at the upper part in a case 1 and a stacker device 3 and the bill safe 4 arranged at the lower part, and a movable piece 8 which is freely raised is fitted to an end position on the case-opening side of the bill safe 3 through a hinge 9. A bill C which is pushed in the bill safe 4 by the stacker device 3 is held by a holding member 5 and the movable piece 8 is rotated and fallen down to this side when a specific number of bills are held, so that the bill C can be drawn out horizontally by clipping its side end part. The movable piece 8 is automatically returned by fitting a return spring 10.
