LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma addressed liquid crystal display device which suppresses and prevents the deterioration of the display characteristics caused by ultraviolet rays from the plasma channel, which can be alignment-treated with use of ultraviolet rays of a specified wavelength region and which has wide viewing angle characteristics and to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The plasma addressed liquid crystal display device is provided with a liquid crystal layer 20 held between a substrate 8 and a dielectric layer 3, an electrode 10 arranged on the liquid crystal layer 20 side of the substrate 8 and a plasma channel 5 arranged opposite to the electrode 10 via the liquid crystal layer 20 and the dielectric layer 3. The dielectric layer 3 selectively attenuates the ultraviolet rays generated from the plasma channel 5.
