<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the performance of an entire multiprocessor system while effectively utilizing the original merit of look-ahead without disturbing ordinary data transfer by holding data looked ahead at a place close to a processor, which requests read, as much as possible. SOLUTION: Concerning the memory access method for the multiprocessor system connecting plural system modules, which load plural processors having buffers for holding data and cache memories for temporarily holding the data, through a cross bar module, this method is provided with a step, in response to a read request from one processor in one arbitrary system module, for holding data looked ahead from the system module except for one arbitrary system module in the buffer inside the cross bar module.</p> |
