摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain reduction in manufacturing cost by grasping the direction and size of the positional deviation in the optical axis of an optical fiber and reducing working hours required for relative positioning between the optical fiber and a light receiving element to be optically coupled. SOLUTION: In manufacturing an optical module including adjustment of the optical axis, the image of a photoreceiver 4 of the light receiving element 2 and the beam spot of a light beam emitted from the optical fiber 1 are picked up by means of an infrared camera 5 installed above the optical fiber 1 and the light receiving element 2 to be optically coupled, and the optical axis of the optical fiber 1 is moved so that the position of the photoreceiver 4 coincides with the beam spot, the optical fiber 1 is thereby positioned at a prescribed position of the optical module on which the light receiving element 2 is mounted.
