The solar heating elements work on the roller blind principle and are designed so that the highest possible solar energy radiated in is converted through gravity circulation on the absorber principle to heat up the water through heat exchange. The elements are cut to the width of the swimming pool and are movably connected together. At the ends there are soft plastics caps for clean closure. The elements float up to 80 % below the water surface and the lower side in the water has a solar selective coating. When extended the elements serve to cover the pool against dirt and evaporation.
