<p>The present application relates to recombinant adenoviral vectors (rAds) that are not complemented in target cells. The rAds are carrying modified terminal repetitions (ITRs) to prevent replication initiation of those vectors that were trans-complemented by wild-type human adenoviruses (Ads). For that purpose the replication core origin of a CELO, an Ad that infects avian species, is combined with a human rAd. The resulting vectors are termed rescue-defective ADs (rdAds). The sequence of the replication core origin of the CELO Phelps strains (CELO PHELPS) shows the presence of cytosines instead of guanines at positions one, four, and seven when compared to human Ad5.</p> |
